Join us at El Pueblo History Museum for Hands-On History Camp! Hands-On History provides safe, engaging learning opportunities for elementary and middle school children (grades 1st through 8th). We will be offering Winter Break Camp, Spring Friday Classes, Spring Break Camp, Summer Camp, and Fall Friday Classes. Paws & Claws
Campers dive into Colorado's history through the lens of its native wildlife! Through exploring and creating, campers will have the opportunity to learn about the history and importance of animals in the state. This immersive experience connects wildlife, people and place for a wild week of learning and fun!

Art Adventures
Students will immerse themselves in art history as they learn about a variety of historic and contemporary artists. Join us as we explore new art techniques and experiment with different materials as we create various types of art in this fun and exciting environment.
Festive Folklórico Dance
Celebrate the vibrant traditions, culture, and history of Mexico through folklórico dance! This high-energy movement class will introduce students to the vibrant world of traditional Mexican folk dance through the exploration of regional styles, footwork, and choreography.
Digging Through Time
Grab your trowel—it’s time to dig! Join us as we become junior archaeologists, uncover hidden treasures, and explore Pueblo’s own archaeological site. Every discovery tells a story as we travel back in time to bring history to life!
Pueblo Pioneers
Step back in time and discover what life was like for the early pioneers of Colorado! Students will learn about how people lived and survived in the olden days by playing interactive games and experimenting with self-sustaining skills, and other traditional homesteading activities.
NOTE ABOUT PROGRAM DATES: Classes will be held every Friday throughout the duration of the semester with the exception of March 27, 2026 which coincides with Spring Break.
Additional Information
Camp is in session from 8 am to 4 pm. Drop off will start at 8 am. Students will check in with our education staff at the side entrance and parents will have to come inside to sign your child in. During the first hour of the day, students will play games with other students and staff. We ask that your child arrive before 9 am, when our programming begins. The first part of the day is super important for your child as we will start getting to know one another, having mindful conversations, and preparing for our day.
When it is time to pick up your child, you or your alternate pick up person (confirmed in our registration records) must come inside to sign out your child. Please pick up your child by 4 pm.
